Some hundreds of Germans protested on Sunday to demand Scholz’s government to turn the taps on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline amid spiraling energy bills.
The pipeline has been halted as one of the tough sanctions against Moscow, while the Nord Stream 1 has been completely shut down by Russian side citing tech woes.

It was the request of Angela Merkel (if I remember correctly) to construct and open the Nordstream2, Putin and Gazprom executives didn't want to. Greetings from Denmark. Europe has allready got a vision to get rid of fossil fuel. In Denmark is it in 2030 for gas, so we are allready a long way to get independent from Russia. I don't see the current situation as a problem, but more as a temperary reroute. I know the media would like it to sound as the end of europe, but it is not. For me personal I will lower my heat consumption 1-2 degrees and then my heating bill will still be on target, and our district heating facilities runs on natural gas... The influx of Ukrainians and now also Russians is what's making it all expensive. The demand for gas is higher than the amount so of course it's becoming more expensive.
